Cleaning has become a factor of utmost importance during the Coronavirus pandemic. Many families are cleaning every surface of their homes in hopes of disinfecting and staying healthy. One of the advantages of a shower door versus a shower curtain is their feasibility of cleaning. Below are some tips for cleaning your shower door so you can rest assured that your home is a safe and healthy space for your family.

Using Household Supplies on Untreated Glass

Typical cleaning supplies may be running low or completely out at your grocery store, which leaves many people forced to be creative in their cleaning techniques.

You can clean your shower door with two easy ingredients: white vinegar and baking soda. To start, wet your shower glass using your water sprayer or bucket. Next, fill a spray bottle with white vinegar and spray it on the entire surface of the glass. You'll then let the vinegar soak in for at least 10 minutes. After the vinegar has soaked in, dip a sponge into baking soda and scrub the glass. Once you have scrubbed the entire shower door, you'll rinse it with water and dry with a microfiber cloth. (Please test in an inconspicuous area to be sure that any etched or silk glass will not be harmed).

Commercial cleaning solutions

If you are able to find commercial cleaning solutions at the grocery store or already had some, these are a surefire way to disinfect your surfaces. Please test any commercial cleaning solutions on an inconspicuous area before applying to the entire enclosure and be sure to rinse all surfaces completely and wipe dry.

Every day maintenance

It is recommended to dry your shower door after every use to get excess water off the door and prevent hard water buildup. A squeegee is a great tool to have on hand.
